I came to Jamaica seeking purpose and understanding. One   of  the things I learned is that we live in a lot of illusions, time being one of the most mysterious of them. The first thirty-eight years of my life were spent seemingly stuck in a dimension of fear, emptiness and confusion. Yet in the short span that I have been in Jamaica I have had two powerful love affairs and have come to a new sense of self that has, indeed, served to make sense out of nonsense.
